10:00 a.m.

Solace (19:09 minutes)

“I think I’m gonna know you for the rest of my life”. Solace is a short film directed by Sophie Wright written by Dan Solares. The story follows childhood best friends, Tony and Raul whose bond forever changes when Raul shows Tony his memory box full of old photos, also revealing his ownership of a weapon. Taken aback, Tony must discover the reason why Raul has a gun, and what he can do to help him. Solace is a story that reflects on breaking through the darkness, finding solace in someone else.  

10:30 a.m.

Al Maram (5:14 minutes)

"Maram" a mother and journalist was forced to be displaced from her city. Just like what happened to her ancestors seventy five years ago. Maram defies war danger, displacement circumstances, targeting journalists, also being away from her children for long hours, so she can continue her journalism work as she conveys the truth, even if it costs her life.  

10:45 a.m.

The Sweet Perfume (14:53 minutes)

A female student named Ruqiya gets dizzy and nauseous during a national exam due to an allergy to perfume. But the invigilator does not allow her to go out. An unknown student who notices this weakness of Ruqiya starts harassing her.  

11:00 a.m.

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth (32:41 minutes)

Taking a walk down memory lane whilst enjoying the unique scenery during a camping trip. Peace, sunshine and a long forgotten beach – is there any better way to celebrate a reunion? This seems to be the most beautiful place on earth. What started out as a short vacation with friends quickly turns into a survival game. Who can you really trust? Is a lover more loyal than a friend or do memories fog your perception? After deceiving actions and nerve-wracking encounters true colors begin to show.

Glitched (13:45 minutes)

Nora, a young teen of color, is devastated after the death of her mother and makes a wrong decision that has lasting effects on her life – taking her into an unknown realm that science cannot prove.  

12:00 p.m.

Returning to Lulu (1 hour 5 minutes)

Eva has spent the last 10 years in and out of insane asylums. Now she is back and has to conquer both her fears and insanity so she can return to her daughter Lulu.  

1:15 p.m.

The Demon Car of Proctor Valley Road (12:15 minutes)

On their first date, high schoolers Brett and Erica ignore her father’s warnings about local legends and take the infamous Proctor Valley Road shortcut—only to find themselves in a high-speed race for their lives.  

1:30 p.m.

I Can Smell a Rat (16:54 minutes)

Maribel, 10, is surprised when her drama teacher tells her that she has to play Hamlet in the school play just 2 days before the show, as she is the only one available after the girl who was playing Hamlet got sick and won’t make it. Maribel faces the biggest decision of her life: what to do when she has never taken a part in a play before, other than being a set decoration. She goes home and spends the scariest night of her life with all her fears coming to life.

Ride Share (10:31 minutes)

A ride share driver gets a fare, which turns out to be his ex and her new man. She takes the opportunity to address unresolved issues.

Thesis (12:58 minutes)

A father must decide between a scientific breakthrough and saving his family.

Fluff and Furious (3:43 minutes)

A fluffy pup, inspired by its wild relative, sets out to prove it’s more than just a soft fur ball.  

2:45 p.m.

Adas Falasteen (7:55 minutes)

"Palestine Lentils" is a documentary film that tells the story of a Palestinian chef and his role in using his hobby as a shield against the famine caused by the war on Gaza, preserving the spirit of resilience and hope within his community.  

3:00 p.m.

Amida (25:00 minutes)

On the verge of gender transition, Qasem is invited by her brothers to a celebration where she is renamed Parvaneh. But the arrival of eldest brother Khandadash shatters the moment, revealing hidden tensions. As chaos unfolds, Qasem and Khandadash each face their own purgatory—one of identity, the other of denial—until only silence remains between them.

My Mother Bought a Camera (13:34 minutes)

In 2022, filmmaker Geovana Pimentel found her mother's old 8mm camera. She begun a journey of self-discovery and reconciliation with her inner child as she navigates life as an adult.

Amazon Queen (1 hour 26 minutes)

A dream vacation of a lifetime quickly turns into a hijacking, endangering passengers and crew, on a boat journey down the Amazon River and into the Brazilian rainforest. Desperate criminals storm aboard, pursuing a lost fortune in the jungle. Now under threat, and with food and fuel running low, the once idealistic tourists - now hostages - must use all their ingenuity as their Amazon cruise becomes a descent into a desperate struggle for survival.

The Building Blocks of a Bridge (9:44 minutes)

One year into her corporate life, a 22-year-old navigates the monotony of daily routines—commutes, clutter, and solitude. When her mother’s voice reappears through a series of voicemails, she initially remains unmoved. But as the messages persist, subtle shifts in her behavior begin to surface.

The Building Blocks of a Bridge is a meditative short film about estrangement, emotional inertia, and the slow, quiet beginnings of healing. Sometimes, reconciliation starts not with a grand gesture—but with a single, small step.

What’s My Name (8:50 minutes)

Set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, Rob and Rebecca are bound to get along. Yet as their conversation unfolds, Rob talks the talk while Rebecca holds on to a powerful secret.

Crac! (14:59 minutes)

A beetle abandoned by his colony lives in the heights of an oak tree. Under the intrigued eye of the insect, a hiker pitches her tent at the foot of the tree to spend the night, while a group of forest rangers mark the trees to be cut down with a red stroke.

Rebound (15:00 minutes)

A man who is involved in a serious accident that leaves him partially paralyzed turns to family, music and basketball to heal emotionally.

I Am Gitxsan (1 hour 4 minutes)

"I Am Gitxsan" follows Phoenix Apperloo, a recent high school graduate reconnecting with his Indigenous heritage in Hazelton, British Columbia, Canada. Inspired by encounters with residential school survivors, he writes a heartfelt letter to Prime Minister Trudeau about the injustices faced by his people.

The documentary highlights the impact of colonialism on the Gitxsan community, featuring insights from experts like Dr Gabor Maté and showcasing their resilience through protests and legal actions. It culminates with a moving message of hope and determination, emphasizing the power of the Gitxsan people's enduring spirit, the beauties of their culture, and their commitment to future generations.

Cat-Tastrophe (3:13 minutes)

A cat, through its catastrophic antics, inspires a villainous inventor to devise her most evil plan yet. 3D animated slapstick comedy.

Darcine’s Day (16:30 minutes)

We spend the day with Darcine Thomas, divorced and jobless, as she struggles to get back on her feet. She goes from pillar to post trying to find work and support, with obstacles at every turn. When propositioned by a good friend, she thanks him, but returns to her lonely solace, going unseen for the help she really needs.
